Our Commitment

SOS-Nounou respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it and what rights you have over your data.

This policy complies with Quebec's Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information (commonly known as Law 25), adopted in 2021 and fully in effect since September 2024.

What Information We Collect

When creating your account

For families: first name, last name, email, city, postal code, number and age of children, type of care sought.

For babysitters: first name, last name, email, city, postal code, date of birth, experience, hourly rate, availability, profile photo (optional), personal description.

When signing in with Google

If you sign in with your Google account (Google OAuth), we receive your name, email and profile photo from Google. We do not receive your Google password and do not access any other data from your Google account.

Browsing data

SOS-Nounou uses GoatCounter and Umami, two privacy-friendly analytics tools that do not use cookies and do not collect personal data. Only aggregated, anonymous statistics are recorded.

Essential cookies

SOS-Nounou only uses PHP session cookies required for the site to function. No advertising, tracking or profiling cookies are used.

Why We Collect Your Information

Create and manage your account: allow you to sign up, log in and manage your profile.

Matchmaking: display your profile to users looking for services in your area.

Communication: send you emails related to your account.

Improve the service: understand how the site is used through anonymous statistics.

We never sell, rent or share your personal information for advertising or commercial purposes.

Your Consent

By creating an account on SOS-Nounou, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in this policy.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account or writing to contact@sos-nounou.com.

Consent of minors

Under Quebec's Law 25, collecting personal information about a person under 14 requires the consent of the person with parental authority.

Data Retention

Your information is kept as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your information is erased within 30 days. Accounts inactive for 24 consecutive months are deleted after email notice.

Information Sharing

Google (United States): if you use Google OAuth sign in.

Monarobase (France): our hosting provider.

GoatCounter and Umami: anonymous traffic data only.

We do not share your information with any other third party unless required by law.

Security Measures

HTTPS encryption, passwords stored as bcrypt hashes, limited database access, regular backups.

Your Rights

Under Law 25, you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, withdraw consent and request de-indexing. To exercise these rights, write to contact@sos-nounou.com. We respond within 30 days.

If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Changes to This Policy

SOS-Nounou reserves the right to modify this policy. For substantial changes, we will notify you through a visible notice on the site or by email.
