Hi parents 😌, My name is Dereck, I'm 23 years old, and I've been babysitting for about 4 years now. I also work part-time at the university hospital, which has really helped me strengthen my sense of responsibility, reliability, and professionalism. What drew me to babysitting in the first place is simply the genuine joy I feel being around children. I love their energy, their creativity, and the meaningful connections we build together every day. Over the years, I've developed experience caring for children of all ages—from babies to older kids—and I'm comfortable looking after multiple children at once. I know every family is unique, so I take time to understand each child's needs, routines, and personality. That way, they feel confident and secure with me. I'm a calm, gentle, patient, and attentive person. I believe in being truly present with the children: playing with them, chatting, making them laugh, supporting them through their routines, and being an active part of their day. I'm not the type to spend time on my phone during a babysitting job—children deserve genuine, engaged attention. I also know when to be firm and set boundaries when needed, always with respect and kindness. I understand how much trust parents place in someone when they leave their children in their care, and I take that responsibility very seriously. Even though men are less common in childcare, it's always felt natural to me. I genuinely love caring for kids and contributing to their well-being in a calm, safe, and positive environment. That's what keeps me going year after year. 😁
